Psychologically deep, transformative coaching — the boutique choice for a thoughtful approach
Animas Centre for Coaching is one of the UK's better-known coaching schools, built around a distinctive "transformative coaching" philosophy. Unlike schools that teach a single coaching methodology, Animas exposes students to a broad range of psychological frameworks — humanistic theory, CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, systemic approaches — and encourages students to synthesise these into a personal coaching style.
The Accredited Diploma in Transformative Coaching runs across six live virtual modules and provides 123 ICF-accredited training hours — more than twice the minimum required for ACC accreditation. The programme takes approximately nine months and includes group supervision, observed practice, and access to an extensive resource vault.
At £5,995, Animas sits at the top of the mainstream accredited market. This reflects the small cohort model and the depth of support — but it is a significant investment compared to alternatives offering comparable accreditation, including The Coaching Academy's AC pathway at £3,950.
Animas suits students who are drawn to a philosophically rich, psychologically grounded approach to coaching, who prefer small intimate cohorts, and who already have a clear route to clients (perhaps within an existing professional role). It is less suited to those who need business-building support or who are price-sensitive.
